Trey Songz Continues to Rise, Charts at Number 2

Atlantic Records sure knows how to strike the iron while it's hot. This past year has been a year to remember for Mr. Steal Your Girl. Trey Songz has literally grown as an artist before our eyes and now all his hard work is finally paying off.

Within this time frame, Trey has celebrated the first of many accomplishments of his career. His first top 10 Billboard 200 album. Released August 31st 2009, ‘Ready’ reached #3 on the Billboard 200. His first album to be certified by the RIAA. ‘Ready’ has since sold over 800,000 records in the US. His first Grammy album nomination. ‘Ready’ was nominated for Best R&B Contemporary Album at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. His first reality show. A documentary-series about Trey called Trey Songz: My Moment, the 10-part series followed Trey during his time as opening act on Jay-Z's BP3 Tour. His first co-headlining tour. The 26 date “Passion, Pain & Pleasure” tour with Monica resulted into a huge success and became a key cross-marketing tool for his current album rollout.

Now it seems Trey Songz has outdone himself once again. His 4th studio album, ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure,’ will debut at #2 on the Billboard 200 this week selling 244,103 copies in its first week, according to industry insiders HitsDailyDouble.com. 'Passion, Pain & Pleasure' surpasses last year’s release, "Ready," which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with sales of 131,000.

‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ boast collaborations with rappers Nicki Minaj (“Bottoms Up”), and Drake (“Unusual”).

Trey Songs shows no sign of slowing down either, as he will join Usher on his OMG tour for 25 dates, kicking off November 10 in Seattle.

Congratulations to Atlantic Records, Songbook, Trey Songz and Team Songz!
