Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin’s sun was reportedly attached at a gas station in Detroit Monday night. Eddie Franklin, 52, was attacked by three people, two men and a woman, near Plymouth and Evergreen on the city’s northwest side. He is currently undergoing emergency surgery, Franklin's spokeswoman Gwendolyn Quinn said this morning. She did not release the name of the hospital, and his condition wasn't immediately known.

No additional details were available about the attack, Quinn said.

Detroit Police said they were looking into the matter but had no other information.

Eddie Franklin, who sung for years at gospel concerts in the Detroit, also made on appearance on his mother’s latest release earlier his year, singing “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” on the 12-track CD “A Woman Falling Out of Love.”

Our prayer goes out to the family.
