.Hot newcomer Bruno Mars (real name Peter Hernandez) was arrested on suspicion of narcotics possession early Sunday morning, September 19. Las Vegas police Sgt. John Sheahan revealed that Bruno was busted at around 2:40 A.M. at the Hard Rock hotel. Mars was reportedly confronted in the bathroom when authorities discovered he possessed narcotics. However, the kind of narcotics which the singer/songwriter possessed was not yet known.
The star was freed that same day since he tweeted that he was in Dallas, Texas early Monday morning (Sept. 20).
"Texas is dope! Im in dallas rite now looking foward to meeting some folks @ the radio stations. tune in for a special live performance (sic)."
Prior to the arrest, Bruno, who co-wrote B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" and Travis McCoy's "Billionaire." His new single “Just The Way You Are” is currently #1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Tracks and #6 on the Hot 100.
Mars' debut album, 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans,' is currently set for an October 5, 2010 release. He will open for Maroon 5 on the fall leg of the Hands All Over Tour starting October 6, 2010. Mars will also co-headline with Travie McCoy on a European tour starting October 18, 2010.
