Can Nelly and Kelly Rowland do it again? The St Louis rapper and the former Destiny’s Child singer have joined forces once again for what is dubbed a “Dilemma sequel.” Titled “Gone,” which will be released on Nelly’s forthcoming album Nelly 5.O, the Jim Jonsin-produced track is reminiscent to their previous hit single “Dilemma.”
“Remember the chick that used to live right up the block from me, I seen her yesterday and she’s still fly, she’s still right, still tight, still fine,” Nelly sings as the song begins, setting up the arc from “Dilemma” to here.
Eight years after she fell for Nelly when she "just moved right up the block from" him, her feelings for him haven't also changed. "You know I still got that love for you, baby/ You still be driving me crazy," Rowland croons on the slow-riding beat.
In 2002, “Dilemma,” released on Nelly’s sophomore LP ‘Nellyville,’ spent 10 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. In the 50th anniversary of the Hot 100 issue of Billboard Magazine, the song ranked at number 64 on the all-time Hot 100 songs. In addition, “Dilemma” was ranked the 11th most successful song from 2000 to 2009. The song won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 45th Grammy Awards.
Nelly 5.0 is expected to be released later this year. Beside Kelly, there are also features from Birdman, Dj Khaled, Chris Brown, Plies, T.I., T-Pain and Keri Hilson on the set.
